A painting to put yourself back together… The Goldfinch, a John Crowley movie will be out on September 11, 2019 in France. A striking movie about the moving childhood of a young boy and his reconstruction thanks to painting by artist Carel Fabritius. Plot:
Theodore “Theo” Decker is only 13 when is mother is killed in an explosion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This tragedy will change his life: moving from distress to guilt, he puts himself back together little by little and even discover love. All along his journey to adulthood, he safely keeps a relic of that tragic day enabling him not to lose hope: the painting of a minuscule bird chained to its perch. The Goldfinch.
