History repeats itself… Terminator: Dark Fate, a Tim Miller movie, is released on October 23, 2019 in France and in VOD on March 11, 2020. A movie following the second film of the saga, Terminator 2: Judgement Day out in 1991, paying no heed to the other movies out since then. Also note that James Cameron is back as the scriptwriter for the movie.
Moving on to the cast, in addition to rediscover Arnold Schwarzenegger as Terminator T-800, we have Linda Hamilton playing her legendary part, I name Sarah Connor, as well as Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049, Tully…), Gabriel Luna (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD), Natalia Reyes and even Diego Boneta (Pelé: Birth of a Legend, Monster Hunter…).
Plot:
Mexico, today. 21-year old Dani Ramos works on an assembly line in a car factory. She sees her life turned upside down when she suddenly finds herself in front of two strangers: on one side Gabriel, a very advanced, indestructible and shape-shifting Terminator machine, a “Rev-9” from the future, here to kill her; and on the other hand, Grace, a genetically augmented super-solider, sent to protect her.
Involved in a breathtaking race through town, Dani and Grace owe their safety to the formidable Sarah Connor who, helped by a mysterious source, hunts down Terminators for decades. Determined to join this unknown ally in Texas, set forth but Terminator Rev-9 keeps on chasing them, so do drones, the police and border patrols… The issue is even bigger that saving Dani is saving the future of humanity.
