Scheduled for release on the first Wednesday in November, Eric Besnard's Louise Violet boasts a three-star cast, including Alexandra Lamy and Grégory Gadebois.
Imagine yourself in 1889. Louise Violet, a schoolteacher, is sent to a village in the French countryside. Her mission: to impose the Republic's free, compulsory and secular school system. It's a difficult mission, and one that doesn't endear her to the children... or their parents.
Over and above its dramaturgical aspect, the film Louise Violet has been chosen by Rotary as a promotional vehicle forEspoir en Tête, which supports fundamental brain research.
The film Louise Violet owes much to its choice casting. Alexandra Lamy, a French actress renowned for her talent and versatility, plays the lead role of Louise Violet. Grégory Gadebois, another key figure in French cinema, adds his own unique touch to the cast.
The film also benefits from performances by Jérôme Kircher, Comédie Française member Jérémy Lopez, Patrick Pineau and Annie Mercier. Together, they form a harmonious, credible cast for this plunge into the history of education in France.
According to Rotary, the film brings together "the need to put schools and teachers back on the front line, and to communicate with children and parents about the importance of education." Louise Violet has already made its mark even before its cinema release on November 6, 2024.
So, whether you're a fan of French cinema, or simply interested in education and history, don't miss the film Louise Violet in cinemas from November 6, 2024, and supportEspoir en Tête at the same time.
