Prolific creator and absolute reference in the world of manga: Leiji Matsumoto is in the spotlight at the Musée Guimet. From February 22 to 25, 2024, take advantage of a retrospective to (re)discover the mangaka's emblematic films and series.

Here's a name that every child of the 1970s and 1980s knows: Albator, the space corsair, marked an entire generation. This Japanese anime character was born from the pen of Leiji Matsumoto, the famous mangaka and Japanese artist. One year after his death, the Musée Guimet decided to pay tribute to this much-loved mangaka.

A retrospective allows the general public to discover or rediscover Leiji Matsumoto's most popular creations. In the museum's auditorium, young and old alike can come and watch films and series episodes created by the mangaka. Albator is obviously on the program of this retrospective, but it's not the only one: you can also see other science-fiction works by Leiji Matsumoto, and films that inspired and influenced the director's universe.

From February 22 to 25, 2024, the Musée Guimet invites you to relive the highlights of your childhood, and share this culture with younger visitors. Here's the program in the auditorium.
