Will the nightmare soon be over? Not for sure... What is certain is that Little Nightmares III, a video game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco, has been waiting for you on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 since October 10, 2025.
" Embark on a new adventure in the unique world of Little Nightmares. In Little Nightmares III, you join Low and Alone on their journey to the exit of the Void. Lost in the heart of the Spiral and its most disturbing places, the two friends must work together to survive in a perilous world of illusions and escape the terrible threat lurking in the shadows. For the first time, face your childhood fears together in online co-op mode, or face them solo with an AI companion."
Two new characters make their appearance in this nightmarish world. And with Low and Alone, multiplayer mode arrives for the first time in the Little Nightmares saga.
The trailers suggest that the graphics are as beautiful as ever, the atmosphere is captivating and the world intriguing, and we can't wait to explore it... If only we can survive the many threats that await us. This third opus features a multiplayer mode, or an AI for those who prefer single-player. We do hope, however, that this artificial intelligence will be truly intelligent, and that it will not become yet another enemy in the game.
Like its big brothers,Little Nightmares III is a puzzle platformer in which you have to make the most of each character's strengths and abilities.
A game we were able to test in part at Paris Games Week. And graphically, it's still a hit, with a meticulous, accomplished and striking DA, still in this gloomy and anguishing universe. It's beautiful and we love it! The graphics are in the same vein as the previous opuses, and should therefore appeal to gamers who are regulars on the saga.
As far as gameplay is concerned, the best jams are made in the same old pots, as the software takes up the good ideas of previous opuses, offering an accessible game, while renewing its mechanics thanks to the second player, inviting you to rethink your way of playing, whether with a friend or the AI. A good idea for renewing the game without losing regular players.
From what little we've been able to see, Little Nightmares III seems to deliver on all its promises, with varied gameplay and graphics as beautiful as ever. We'll have to wait for its release to find out for sure, but we're in no doubt about it. It's already on our wishlist!
We were able to test an entire chapter of Little Nightmares III, on PC. Two hours of gameplay, death and last-minute escapes! The test was carried out in two-player multiplayer mode.
This game has been eagerly awaited by fans of the saga for years. And they shouldn't be disappointed. The universe is as detailed as ever, and as distressing as ever . And thesoundscape does little to soothe us. The characters seem to have stepped out of our nightmares, sometimes recalling familiar films and stories. The graphics are very well realized, and the cinematics are fluid.
In this game, timing is everything, and sometimes it's down to the second. To master this tight schedule, there's only one solution: die, and start again. And again. And again. That's part of the game, of course: you test several actions, until you find the sequence that will allow you to escape the enemies... You often have to use your imagination to solve these little puzzles.
Little Nightmares is classified as a horror game, and it's stressful and oppressive. Some scenes and settings are downright sordid, but the game is mostly fun, and even poetic at times. No rivers of blood, no jump scares, but plenty of surprises and interesting challenges.
We tested this game in multiplayer, a very pleasant option for sharing the experience - and it doesn't take too many brains to find your way out of a room. So we didn't play the game solo on this test chapter, and we don't know how much the difficulty adjusts on certain passages.
Good news: from September 17, a playable demo of the game will be available on all platforms. It's the perfect opportunity to try out the software before breaking the bank.
We were able to play the game again, this time in single-player mode, on PS5. Players are invited to choose their character at the start of the game: Low or Alone. There are few differences between the two, except for this: Low has a bow and Alone a wrench, two weapons that can be used separately or in conjunction, depending on threats and obstacles.
In this single-player adventure, you're not completely alone. Whichever character you choose, his or her companion follows you throughout the story. Many puzzles must be solved by two people in order to move forward: the AI-controlled character stays out of the way as long as you're looking for the solution to the problem, then quickly moves to where he's needed as soon as you need him. While he's no great help, he doesn't block our progress either, and we didn't see any major gameplay flaws during our playthrough.
This AI character can sometimes be frustrating: in escape phases, when every move has to be made to the second, it can slow us down and cause our death. But this is an unavoidable aspect of the game, and these situations will also happen if you play with a real person.
On the whole, Little Nightmares III doesn't hit a false note. The game doesn't really stand out from its predecessors, but it ticks the saga's boxes perfectly, which fans of the genre will appreciate. The multiplayer mode is a real plus: it's a pleasure to share the adventure with a friend, and to think through the puzzles together. Traditionally, Little Nightmares is a very solitary saga, so this two-player mode may put off some players, but it's an aspect we really enjoyed.
Fans of horror and morbid universes should therefore be delighted with this highly polished game, which is as disturbing as it is beautiful.
In the meantime, Bandai Namco is offering us the chance to immerse ourselves a little further in this videogame universe, with a brand-new podcast: The Noise of Nightmares. An original story in six episodes, recounting the disturbing dreams of young Modie...
