Rush Action Game: we tested the Action Game for the whole family at Bastille

Calling allaction game fans! Rush Action Game, an adventure game store located in the 11th arrondissement, a stone's throw from Place de la Bastille, has been waiting for you to enjoy a moment of fun and (slightly) physical challenges since December 2, 2024. The brand invites families, friends and colleagues to test their skills in ten different challenges spread over as many rooms. The aim? Accumulate as many points as possible in a bid to be among the top scorers.

Spanning 400 m², participants navigate through a mix of physical challenges, strategic tasks, and skill-based games. Among the activities on offer, players can test their memory with a blind test, dodge laser beams, or try to stay balanced on a lava floor. According to the organizers, each room features "a unique challenge set within a spectacular backdrop", providing a diverse range of experiences suitable for everyone. And starting in 2026, a new addition joins the lineup: a Grid. What’s that about? It’s a room with illuminated tiles on the floor, where players must step on specific tiles to light them up in a particular pattern (or engage in other gameplay modes).

Our take on Rush Action Game:

A brand we’ve had the chance to test... One evening, we arrive for our session in a large, bright space. Do note, if you’re heading there, that the venue doesn’t face a street, and you’ll need to pass through a gate and enter a building’s courtyard to find the establishment, clearly identifiable by its neon lights. Once on site, the welcome is warm and lively, immediately pulling you into the action.

We head to the lockers, big enough to store a backpack and your jacket. Some are equipped with power outlets for charging your phone during the session. It’s advised to remove any rings you wear on your hands, and we’d strongly recommend taking them off to avoid losing them or injuring yourself (we’ve had that happen). Before you start, you can order a drink or grab water from a fountain, which is very handy for hydrating before you sweat it out on the adventure.

Then you move to the entrance of the first room to hear the instructions, and it’s your turn to play! As for the challenges, they’re varied and incredibly fun to tackle. A special shout-out to the first room, the blind test, which sets the tone and gives you a new burst of energy to dive into the rest of the session. We won’t reveal all of the challenges, but know that most of them break from the ordinary, far from what other venues offer (and that’s really the whole charm of Rush Action Game). It’s fast-paced, dynamic, well-decorated, and it tests your reflexes, knowledge, and agility. Don’t panic, though: nothing is insurmountable.

We had a blast playing a giant Jenga that threatened to topple at any moment, or twisting and turning to nail the Rush Action Game version of The Floor is Lava. The finale, meanwhile, is worthy of Fort Boyard! In short, we A-DO-R-E-D it! Also worth noting, and this is another excellent point, that depending on your score, the venue donates money to a charity—here, Wing of the Ocean. All told, we highly recommend booking a session to form your own opinion!

In addition to challenges, Rush Action Game also offers private spaces for events such as birthdays, team-building sessions or parties with friends.
