Secours populaire français de Seine-Saint-Denis is teaming up with Marguerite Abouet for an exceptional evening.
The author of the famous comic sagas"Aya de Yopougon","Akissi" and"Commissaire Kouamé" is offering original plates and signed reproductions of her work for sale to all drawing enthusiasts.
The aim? To finance a trip to Paris by Ivorian pupils from the"Des livres pour tous" association, of which she is president. Cartoonists Clément Oubrerie, Mathieu Sapin and Donatien Mary will be present.
The "Des livres pour tous" association opens and runs libraries for children and teenagers from working-class neighborhoods in Côte d'Ivoire. Secours populaire de Seine-Saint-Denis, which strives to strengthen and promote access to culture for all, has been supporting this initiative since 2021.
Funds raised at the end of the event will go towards the exchange project between pupils from the Liberté college in Drancy and those from the Saint-Jean Bosco college in Treichville. The trip will take place from March 8 to 14.
