iFLY Paris, the indoor free-fall tube installed at Vill'Up, awaits you for a unique and breathtaking experience! In view of the current health situation, your adventure will be slightly modified for your safety: as of August 1, a health pass is compulsory for anyone over 18.
Also, to ensure compliance with barrier procedures and the safety of all, both in the air and on the ground, each flight session will be limited"to offer more exchanges with the iFly team and guarantee physical distancing", say the teams in a press release. All jumpers will have additional equipment to protect their faces and projections.
The Vill'Up shopping center offers a range of activities for the whole family, including a 14 m-high free-fall simulator: iFLY.
iFLY Vill'up is first and foremost an exceptional 14-metre-high wind tunnel made entirely of glass. Usually, the glass section of conventional wind tunnels is no more than 5 metres high. Even the one in Dubai, a city known for its excessiveness, is "only" 8 metres high, just over half that of Vill'up.
iFLY is powered by 4 motors of 400 hp each, giving a total output of 1,600 hp, which suck in the air and inject it into the tube to get the participants off the ground.
The "floor" of the tube is a metal net that can be walked on like a catamaran trampoline. This allows the instructor to stand upright - the position with the least wind resistance - to guide you and communicate with you by gesture throughout the session.
For around 2 minutes (for a baptism), you enter the tube accompanied by an instructor who helps you find your balance and get your bearings. Little by little, you learn to steer with your hands, just like the flaps on an airplane. The more you get comfortable, the more you can try out new flying positions: on your back, sitting, standing or doing different tricks.
Everything is filmed and shown on screens nearby, with a slight delay so you can review your performance as you leave. You can also purchase photos and/or videos of your performance before or at the end of the session.
In practical terms, you should expect to be on site for around 1h30. The experience begins with a TV debriefing, followed by a full theoretical training session. Then you put on your equipment and off you go for 2 flights in a row. Finally, you leave with your freefall certificate.
Every 30 minutes, the instructors give you a free-fall demonstration to give the public a magnificent overview of all the tricks that can be performed when you become experienced.
Prices vary according to the number of people, their level and the time of day, but start from €59.90 for 2 jumps for 1 person.
