An imaginary bestiary to exorcise your fears, or Jessie Désolée's visual odyssey.
Her works are created with anything she can get her hands on, from Bic to watercolor. Marked by childhood doodles, Jessie Désolée has always been drawn to the art of drawing. In Jessie's kingdom, monsters coexist in harmony. These creatures, each with its own story, symbolize fears transcended and freedoms conquered. It's here, in this space where the imaginary meets the real, that Jessie Désolée finds her haven of peace and her most authentic field of expression.
"I was exhibiting some drawings in a designer boutique in La Rochelle. The director of the town's choreographic center, Kader Attou, fell under the spell of one of my works. He asked me if he could use it for his show, Murmure des songes. That's how this exhibition, Le club des monstres, came about." The visual odyssey of Jessie Désolée Jessica Hautdidier, aka Jessie Désolée, is a self-taught artist. Her works, created with whatever she can get her hands on, from Bic to watercolor, reflect a constant exploration of new techniques and a daily apprenticeship. Marked by childhood doodles, Jessie Désolée has always been drawn to the art of drawing. After graduating with a degree in art, she enrolled at the Beaux-Arts, but her deepest aspirations were thwarted and she put down the pen for a decade. But then, one day, a Bic was lying on her desk, and the artist began scribbling again, giving life to a universe populated by monsters, plants and fantastic animals.

A bestiary to exorcise fears
After the public has had a chance to choose a few disguises, they enter the world of Jessie
Désolée through a diorama. A few oils on canvas, watercolors and, above all, Bic pen drawings reveal a world populated by creatures that, if not frightening, are fascinating. "We're all someone's monster," says the artist, who admits to being "a little afraid of everything". The exhibition is punctuated by games and manipulations for young and old, a reading area and a drawing corner.
