In partnership with Citytoon Studio, the City of Argenteuil is offering a brand-new concept: a heritage webtoon (comic strip on smartphone) to help visitors discover the city's tourist attractions in a fun way.
A webtoon is a comic strip read on a smartphone or other digital medium, which you scroll up and down, just as you would on social networks. A trend already familiar to the new generations.
The aim is to raise the city's profile among young people with a concept they may already be familiar with: the webtoon format has several million readers in France. Argenteuil is teaming up with a French company to create episodes in which readers will be invited to follow the adventures of a character through the streets of their city.
There are 10 episodes in all, preceded by an epilogue, from December to April, one episode published every 2 weeks, to be found online , free of charge and without registration! Throughout the episodes, you'll follow Léo, the main character, as he discovers the treasures of Argenteuil.
The aim of the project is also to raise public awareness of this concept, which originated in South Korea, through artistic residencies, accompanied bycreative workshops in which the public is invited to participate. These are privileged moments to discover the work of comic artists, but also to try their hand at drawing and webtoon creation. No drawing or writing skills are required, and novices are welcome to learn from professionals.
