When horses meet opera…. Bartabas’ (head of the equestrian Academy of Versailles) genius offers us a unique interpretation of Mozart’s Requiem helped and supported by conductor Marc Minkowski.
So, from September 15 to 17, 2017, Boulogne-Billancourt Seine Musicale is to host an exceptional show that will bring together 13 horses and equerries from the equestrian Academy of Versailles, 42 musicians from the Musiciens du Louvre and 150 choristers from the Maîtrise des Hauts-de-Seine for a revisit of Mozart’s work that is so much enjoyed by music lovers – because of the melody of the various sequences and the unresolved mysteries about the unfinished work.
For over an hour, let yourself go with the music and the voices of the four soloists: Ana Maria Labin, Anthéa Pichanick, Fabio Trümpy, Callum Thorpe – and first and foremost with the ballet of the horses from the equestrian Academy. The show will include:
Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART (1756-1791)
Requiem in A minor (KV 85)
George Frideric HANDEL (1685-1759)
From Funeral Anthem for Queen Caroline “The Ways of Zion Do Mourn” HWV 264 – Largo Assai
Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART (1756-1791)
Requiem in D Minor (KV 626) Breitkopf (Version completed by Eybler and Suessmayr)
Ave verum corpus, motet for mixed choir, strings and organ KV 618
Already performed in Salzburg, the show has received enthusiastic reviews for critics.
If you want seats, but that you are not in Paris on theses dates, know that the show will be back on May 15-20, 2018 at the Grande Halle de la Villette, with music directed by Michel Piquemal and the chœur Vittoria d'Ile de France.
