It’s a yearly event we love, Monuments en Mouvement is bold enough to oppose the unalterable French heritage and the liveliness of contemporary dance, inviting choreographers to take over the emblematic monuments and architectures, such as the Villa Savoye in Poissy, the Hôtel de Sully or the Saint-Cloud national estate.
Choreographer Nathalie Pernette perfectly knows the principle: dancing since season one of the Monuments en mouvement program, she has already performed La Figure du gisant [the face of the recumbent statue] at the Cluny abbey and La Figure du Baiser [the face of the kiss] at the Palais-Royal estate. The audience can still remember the pure beauty of these ecstatic moments of dance.
This year, she comes back for our greatest joy for the third and ultimate step of this three-part work called Une pierre Presque immobile [An almost still stone] by performing La Figure de l’érosion under the stones and the decors of the Pantheon.
For about an hour, the choreographer will slowly explore the theme of the disappearance. A genuine physical achievement leading us to the sweet, poetic and melancholic path of meditation.
Whether you enjoy dance or heritage, that’s an event you don’t want to miss!
