Gitans - Le Musical, the new musical creation 2025, runs from January 10 to April 6 at the Théâtre Libre in Paris's 10th arrondissement. The show focuses on gypsy music, immersing the audience in a love triangle.
In this new musical, Tiago, a young gypsy, finds himself embroiled in an altercation while defending Nadia, a gadji, from thugs on an outing with his friends. This encounter gives rise to an intense passion between them, but Tiago is faced with a major dilemma: he has to marry Sara in a week's time. Of course, throughout the plot of Gitans - Le Musical, gypsy music takes center stage at Théâtre Libre.
But what is gypsy culture? Gypsy culture is marked by nomadic traditions and a deep attachment to family and community. Distinguished by its vibrant music, dynamic dances and colorful crafts, gypsy culture continues to influence music, dance and art around the world, as shown in the new show Gitans - Le Musical.
Gypsy music is often played on instruments such as guitar, violin and accordion, with Spanish, Balkan and Oriental influences. The new creation Gitans - Le Musical, presented at Théâtre Libre, is inspired by the strong oral tradition of gypsies, transmitting their history and customs through stories and songs.
