Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Île-de-France region is committed to retracing thehistory of sport, through numerous events, animations and exhibitions. From November 28, 2023 to April 26, 2024, the Campus Condorcet in Aubervilliers will be evoking the militant figures of popular sport, who helped democratize the practice of sport and make it a social issue. For five months, this free exhibition will feature some thirty committed individuals, as well as conferences, screenings and days dedicated to specific sports.
Both historical and sporting, this exhibition explores the link between sport and the social and workers' movement in the 20th century, as well as the role of trade unions, associations and political parties in making sport accessible to the general public. Conceived by the Centre d'histoire sociale des mondes contemporains and the Humatèque Condorcet, the exhibition will travel across France in the run-up to the Games, as part of theCultural Olympiad.
You'll discover dozens of biographies of sports activists who have made it possible for everyone to enjoy a sporting activity today! During the exhibition, you'll also be able to take advantage of a series of conferences open to all, as well as sporting events organized by the FSGT 93, including rock-climbing, walking-football and parkour initiations!
