Because art is meant to be multiple and rich, there are many exhibitions to discover throughout the year in Paris. There are, for example, exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, painting, photography, fashion, sculpture, street art and artists' retrospectives. But there are also exhibitions devoted to the fascinating world of music.
In recent years, for example, the Philharmonie de Paris has hosted an exhibition on hip-hop, another on electro music and a fine installation on metal music. Several cultural venues in the capital have also chosen to honor an artist, such as the Michael Jackson exhibition at the Grand Palais (2018-2019), the installation devoted to Fela Anikulapo-Kuti at the Philharmonie (2022) or the Serge Gainsbourg exhibition at the BPI in Beaubourg (2023).
Paris is currently hosting a number of music-related exhibitions. Four of them are sure to be the talk of the town, starting with the David Bowie exhibition to be seen in a gallery in the Marais district. For its part, the Philharmonie de Paris will be honoring Disco music with an original and astonishing exhibition that will reveal all the secrets of this festive and unifying musical genre. Last but not least, the MaisonEuropéenne de la Photographie will be presenting an exhibition devoted to the British photographer Dennis Morris, who immortalized the likes of Bob Marley and the Sex Pistols.
