Don't know him yet? Take advantage of this free exhibition to discover his exceptional work. Arnaud Baumann is a French portrait photographer who has worked with some of the greatest artists of his time. Studio Idan welcomes the photographer and his photographs from January 11 to March 11, 2024, with the exhibition Iconic Portraits.
The exhibition brings together over 80 works from various collections. The exhibition features the artist's most important successes, the photographs that have made his name, and the images that have had a particular influence on his career.
Arnaud Baumann got his start working alongside Xavier Lambours: together, they illustrated the pages of Libération, Télérama, Le Nouvel Observateur, Géo, Paris Match... They also immortalized the behind-the-scenes stories of Charlie Hebdo and Hara Kiri. But Baumann's talent lies in the way he looks at others.
This gaze, which pierces the camera lens, enables him to accurately capture the emotions, depth and sensitivity of the stars who have passed before his lens. Arnaud Baumann stands out in the art of portraiture: his expertise has enabled him to meet the greatest celebrities from the 1970s to the present day.
In this exhibition, we can admire portraits of Les Nuls, Coluche, Isabelle Huppert, Dustin Hoffman, Marguerite Duras, Forest Whitaker, Jean Marais, Serge Gainsbourg, François Sagan, Alain Bashung, Spike Lee, Pierre Desproges, Willem Dafoe...
Colors, lighting, perspectives, accessories: each image tells a story, revealing a little of the model's personality, with humor, poetry and creativity. We rediscover these great cultural figures from a new angle, thanks to the photographer's talent.
A lovely exhibition not to be missed this winter.
