To coincide with the "Biodiversity: what culture for what future?" Forum, to be held at the Centre Pompidou this autumn, the Paris museum is hosting an immersive sound installation imagined and designed by Icelandic singer Björk and artist Aleph. Discover it free of charge from Wednesday November 20 to Monday December 9, 2024.

Björk 's long-standing commitment to the environment and the protection of biodiversity continues. This autumn, the Centre Pompidou announces an immersive sound installation co-created by the Nordic artist, to be discovered free of charge in " La Chenille ", the Paris museum's escalators.

Entitled " Nature Manifesto ", this sound work was conceived by the world-famous Icelandic singer and publisher, artistic director and photographer Aleph. Together, they imagined a sound piece lasting 3 minutes 40, conceived as a"post-optimist manifesto on nature".

Created in 2024 as part of the " Biodiversity: what culture for what future? " Forum at the Centre Pompidou, this installation merges the voice of Björk, reading her manifesto, with the cries of extinct and endangered animals, as well as natural soundscapes.

Through this immersive and engaging auditory experience, the two artists evoke the disappearance of biodiversity and the collapse of ecosystems. Together, they give voice to silent nature. " The sounds were edited and produced by Björk in collaboration with Robin Meier Wiratunga, using Ircam software and artificial intelligence models," states theIrcam website.

If you'd like to discover this sound installation by Björk and Aleph, then head for " La Chenille " at the Centre Pompidou from Wednesday November 20 to Monday December 9, 2024. Note that this free sound creation is broadcast continuously.
