The 16th Salon des Arts de Maisons-Laffitte takes place from November 17 to December 7, 2024 at the Centre Montesquieu. Acclaimed for its richness and diversity, this artistic event welcomes some thirty artists each year. This year's edition spotlights Franco-Polish artist Monika Cicolella, guest of honor, and features a conversation with her on Sunday November 17.
Monika Cicolella, born in Poland in 1977 and now living in Lyon, is an artist inspired by nature and literature. A graduate in economics and political science, she discovered Chinese calligraphy during a stay in China, which had a profound impact on her art. Her works, exhibited since 2013, combine oriental techniques with a palette and compositions influenced by European masters such as Chagall and Dufy. This Salon offers an opportunity to admire some forty of his works, retracing an artistic journey enriched by numerous travels.
The works on show, including the Énergie des Arbres and Interconnexion series, embody a vibrant, poetic vision of nature. In Énergie des Arbres, Cicolella pays homage to trees, transforming their energy into soothing, colorful tableaux. Interconnexion, inspired by a time spent in Central Park, explores the links between man and nature through semi-abstract motifs in which trees, faces and urban elements merge.
For lovers of contemporary art and nature, the Salon des Arts de Maisons-Laffitte is an invitation to reverie and contemplation. Those in search of joyful, inspiring works will find a veritable haven of peace, while lovers of technical art will appreciate Cicolella's mastery of gesture.
