As a heat wave descends on the capital, you're invited to jump into the water this Sunday afternoon, July 9, 2023, for the Big Jump. The aim of this action is to show our attachment to rivers, water quality and environmental protection.
Once again, many cities will be taking part in this partnership around the Seine, during this European event where millions of citizens are invited to bathe at the same time. In Paris, the idea doesn't necessarily appeal, since swimming in the Seine is not an easy thing to do. Fortunately, water sports events and activities have been organized to ensure that you can safely dip your feet in!
Nautical event, with canoes, kayaks, Hawaiian pirogues and introductory courses on small sailboats, an exhibition on the riverbanks and, from midday to 4 p.m., a swimming area in the Canal Saint-Martin basin.
Fun and artistic bike ride, dance show at Nouveau Gare au théâtre and return to Théâtre El Duende for "La rue est à nous".
A toe-to-knee swimming area, waterball activities, a brass band and creative workshops.
Boat rides, kayak baptisms, a chance to put your feet in the water and a jump at 3 p.m., an information stand on water and sanitation, a concert and a relaxation area.
Ten or so entertainment and prevention stands.
Clean-up of the canal in kayaks and paddles, boat hire and sports activities on the banks.
Launch from the bridge of a floating object, a participatory creation, accompanied by the Ourcq Polaires open-water swimmers. Stands and exhibition on water, waste collection in kayaks, walks along the banks, bal guinguette.
Introduction to canoeing and kayaking, water games, pedal-boat hire, water fight, nature workshops, scenography workshops with Théâtre de la Poudrerie and biodegradable dye ball throwing in the canal.
Activities focusing on biodiversity and the "zero waste" strategy, food-truck and games for children, DJ set.
Gathering, unfurling of a "Mini Big Jump" banner and opportunity to put your feet in the water.
So, all in the water?
