When you think of the Bois de Vincennes, you think of the great Lac Daumesnil and its bucolic boats, the Parc Floral and its playful accrobranche, the Jardin d'Agronomie Tropicale and its remains dating back to the1907 Universal Exhibition. More discreetly, it's in the heart of this emblematic wood of Paris, completely to the east, that you can stroll through theArboretum de Paris, discovering the many species of trees present.
The Arboretum de Paris is part of the Jardin Botanique de Paris, along with three other gardens: Parc de Bagatelle, Parc Floraland Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil. Labelled a remarkable garden, this is where you can come across no fewer than 1,200 trees on a stroll through a bucolic 12-hectare garden. Deciduous trees, conifers, cherry trees, reed beds, country hedges... The Arboretum features maples, lime trees, large oaks and chestnut trees that grow along the walk. To continue your stroll, simply cross the Route de la Pyramide to reach the Ecole du Breuil garden and its attractive landscaping.
The garden is entirely free of charge, and is open every day of the week, from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm in winter (October 1 to March 30) and from 9:30 am to 8 pm (March 31 to September 30). To get there, take the RER A and get off at Joinville-le-Pont, or the 201 bus (Mortemart stop). Enjoy your visit to the Paris Arboretum!
