The 2021 Candlelight Evenings at Château de Vaux le Vicomte

The Château de Vaux le Vicomte invites you back every Saturday from July 3 to October 2, 2021 for its famous Candlelight Evenings.

Whether you're looking to spend a romantic evening with your loved one, or to discover Vaux le Vicomte in a special atmosphere and take some magnificent photos, this is the ideal outing.

A Château that shines, not with a thousand lights, but with two thousand:

From 7pm, no less than two thousand candles are lit inside the château and in the magnificent garden designed by Le Nôtre: a spectacle combining charm and poetry. This festival of light is combined with classical music, like a journey through time.

Revisit your dance steps: this year's candlelit evenings take you on a romantic waltz through the gardens on a specially installed dance floor.

To round off this timeless evening, one lucky visitor will set off the fireworks every Saturday evening to the music of Franz Léhar's L'Or et l'Argent!

• A romantic dinner at Les Charmilles
  Choose the restaurant Les Charmilles, which opens its arms to you. Located in the heart of the gardens, Les Charmilles offers a breathtaking view of the illuminated château. Chef Laurent Asset offers a refined à la plancha menu for dining al fresco in this magical, subdued setting. In short, an unforgettably romantic atmosphere. Formulas at €64.50 and children's menu at €27.50 (2019 prices). Four 1h30 courses.

• Champagne and macaroons at Songe de Vaux
  Located at the Grilles d'Eau, this area will be open from 6pm to visitors wishing to combine rest and contemplation: comfortably seated in deckchairs, refreshments, glasses of champagne and macaroons will be served.
  Closing at 10.30pm. Champagne 14€, fruit cocktail 9€, macaroons 10€.

• New in 2021! À la table de Jean de LaFontaine
  Make yourself comfortable in the heart of the French gardens to enjoy a menu inspired by 17th-century gastronomy. A convivial experience for families and friends alike.
  49€ per adult, 25€ per child. Online booking required.

• Bistronomic restaurant at Relais de l'Ecureuil
  In the château's outbuildings or on the terrace, this self-service restaurant offers a convivial dinner to suit all budgets!
  No reservation required.
  Approx. €20-25 for starter+main course+dessert .

• Picnic and dinner on the grass
  Bring your own picnic and dine in the authorized areas of the estate gardens! Areas indicated on the map distributed on site.

• Privatize the Vaux-le-Vicomte dome with champagne!
  An anniversary? A wedding proposal? A special event? Privatize the Vaux-le-Vicomte dome, giving you a 360° view over the estate, France's largest private historic monument. Experience a unique sunset during the famous candlelit evenings, when the château and gardens are lit by 2,000 candles...
