Bar at the InterContinental Paris: a Cocktail menu in homage to Sarah Bernhardt

Just a stone's throw from Gare Saint-Lazare, in the legendary bar of theInterContinental Paris - le Grand, discover a new cocktail menu inspired by the Divine Sarah Bernhardt, paying tribute to this emblematic figure from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Echoing the exhibition dedicated to the tragic actress, which opened at the Petit Palais on April 14, Matthias Giroud, founder of the Alchimiste Group, has brought his talent to bear to create a series of original cocktails.

The historicInterContinental Paris - le Grand celebrates the memory of Sarah Bernhardt, a loyal customer. Her meetings with such luminaries as Guerlain, Escoffier and Victor Hugo took place here. Today, a portrait of the actress by Georges Clarin even hangs in the entrance hall, and one of the presidential suites is dedicated to her.

Matthias Giroud, France's master of "liquid gastronomy", is imbued with the artistic soul of Sarah Bernhardt. Renowned for his avant-garde approach, he blends gastronomy, herbalism, perfumery and nature to create bewitching cocktails. His travels have enabled him to develop an appetite for multi-sensory experiences and the blending of flavors.

The new alcoholic and non-alcoholic menu:

3 Cocktails:

• Divine: Champagne, Lillet blanc infused with red vine leaf, verjuice, elderflower cordial and blackcurrant leaf spray.
• Rosine: Bergamot juice, spiced rum, vanilla Rooibos tea syrup and lavender flower spray.
• Fortuny: Strawberry/almond milk mousse, vanilla vodka, Cointreau, pineapple juice, lime and verbena leaf spray.

• Le Belle-Île: Salted butter caramel, apple juice infused with toasted buckwheat, lime, sparkling malt and orange blossom spray.
• La Voix-d'Or: Juniper berry distillation, yellow lemon juice, grape/safran soda and geranium flower spray.
• Le Florissant: Elderflower, tea-infused cranberry juice, cherry blossom, verjuice and rose petal spray.
  

These creations are served under the guidance of head bartender and bar manager Marc Morinière and his teams.
