Bubble tea aficionados, it's now more than ever time than ever to find your next HQ serving these famous Asian drinks, as the sunny days are finally showing their face in the capital after a gloomy start to spring. And what better place for a summer stroll, bubble tea in hand, than on the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin, and more particularly on the pretty Rue Lucien Sampaix , with its many bars and restaurants.
Just the thing, since it's in this leafy, airy corner of Paris that the bubble tea shop Tea Space has opened its doors, winning over the taste buds and pupils of aficionados of the genre with its creations that are as visual as they are gourmet.
The place is run by the descendants of a family of tea growers, and the result is a carefully selected range of teas, both black and green, to be sipped with or without milk, hot or cold, lightly sweetened or with a large amount of sugar, with tapioca pearls or fruit jelly at the bottom, to be slurped sonorously with the big straw once you've reached the end.
All in all, the bubble tea can be customized from one end to the other, and is even more original than usual. An ingenious, somewhat magical machine that heats the bubble tea foam can be used to print your portrait, a photo of your pet, or any other photo you'd like to see floating above your well-cared-for beverage.
Among Tea Space's must-try recipes are a brown sugar latte (6€), appreciated by aesthetes for its generosity and browned sugar taste, a taro bubble tea (7€) terribly comforting with rubbery tapioca pearls without excess, and for the hottest days, strawberry, grape or mango shakes (7€).
Not to mention a small menu of brunch delights, including fluffy, airy pancakes!
