Lemon Story is Marion Laperche's little citrus store on the Butte Montmartre. On the well-stocked shelves are jams, marmalades, various kinds of Limoncello and fresh citrus fruits from the family's plantation in Provence.

If your knowledge of citrus fruits is limited to the yellow lemons in the red supermarket nets, and if for you, citrus marmalade is always similar to the devilishly bitter marmalade of the breakfasts of yesteryear, then you need to drop by Lemon Story without further delay to discover a world of diversity and sapidity still unknown to you.

Founded by Marion Laperche, Lemon Story is a young boutique on the Butte Montmartre, showcasing rare citrus fruits from her family's 10-year-old plantation in the heart of the Provencal countryside. All citrus fruits are grown using sustainable agriculture methods, and this is also where Marion Laperche's laboratory is located, where the founder of Lemon Story imagines a whole host of creative recipes.

Supplying a number of Parisian restaurants, Lemon Story offers a whole collection of rare citrus fruits for sale, changing with the seasons: the delicate yuzu from Asia; the combawa, an ancient citrus fruit from Indonesia with a powerful fragrance; the kalamansi, a hybrid of the mandarin and the kumquat; the citron from the Himalayan hills and Indochina; the intriguing Buddha's hand and its most incongruous shape; the Tahitian lime, a hybridization between a lemon and a Mexican lime; the now ultra-famous caviar lemon and its small, tangy beads; and last but not least, the star of the moment, the Meyer lemon, which, as its name suggests, is not really a lemon but the result of a cross between a citron and a mandarin and pomelo hybrid.

So manyrare citrus varieties to be found fresh in the boutique, with the added bonus that they don't come from the ends of the earth (!) or through Marion Laperche's imaginative creations. On the shelves of Lemon Story are dozens of jars of jams and marmalades, from the most classic to the most original, such as bergamot and lemon marmalade, kalamansi and gingerbread jam, tangelo Wekiwa marmalade, apricot and combawa jam or fig and lemon zest jam. You can expect to pay around €10.50 for a jar of confiote.

Other products on offer at this well-stocked citrus counter include jars of pickles, original salts and various kinds of homemade limoncello, very delicate and less sweet than those used as digestifs in the restaurant, in Meyer lemon, Tahiti lime, yuzu, Zagara Bianca lemon and kalamansi versions (€40).

A must for all citrus lovers and those new to zest and ziste!
