A new, confidential Evok address has just opened its doors on Place des Vosges: the Hotel Cour des Vosges. Located at 19 Place des Vosges, thisprivate mansion boasts a breathtaking view of the Square Louis XIII. This historic site is, in fact, theformer Hôtel de Montbrun, a listed 17th-century residence.
Inside, the hotel takes us back in time, to the heart of a great French family who have lived here since the 16th century. A family of art lovers and collectors, who took pleasure in compiling and accumulating sculptures, ceramics, tapestries, pieces of furniture...
For Cour des Vosges, architects Yann Lecoadic and Alessandro Scotto drew on historic Paris and reconstructed its past, like archaeologists. Confronted with the listed building, with its original painted beam ceilings and period terracotta floors, their mission was to protect, conserve and respect theauthenticity of the site .
Together, they created 12 rooms and suites ranging in size from 25 to 60 m2 (some of which are interconnected), spread over 4 floors, each with its own kitchen and plenty of storage space.
Antique terracotta flirts with azure tapestries, candelabra lamps sit alongside stainless steel tables and glass bar tops, while statues wink at lacquered screens. Design pieces and four-poster beds add to the ambience!
On the first floor, a door leads to the hotel'srelaxation area, while the hotel's shop window houses a restaurant offering light, gourmet fare from breakfast through to dinner and tea time. Corner Brach, meanwhile, features a selection of sweet treats concocted by pastry chef Yann Brys, Meilleur Ouvrier de France!
