How about a Michelin-starred trip to Fontainebleau? L'Axel is the name of this divine restaurant, run by chef Kunihisa Goto for the past 10 years. Refined French cuisine with a hint of Japanese products, this is the perfect place to make a discovery.

Many Parisians go green by visiting Fontainebleau for its magnificent forest. But Fontainebleau also abounds in other treasures, such as this Michelin-starred restaurant. L'Axel is the name of this gourmet restaurant, located just a stone's throw from the château, which has already been delighting diners for 10 years.

Chef Kunihisa Goto wasted no time in winning 3 toques from Gault & Millau before earning his first Michelin star. The chef makes no secret of his ambition to obtain a second star. And he's not resting on his laurels, either: after opening his second restaurant, Fuumi, in 2021, he opened a patisserie on the same street. Named l'A Pâtisserie, this new gourmet spot in collaboration with pastry chef Ayako Kishi offers a lovely marriage of fine creations and Japanese inspiration .

We love the precision of the cooking, the refinement of the dishes and the beautiful combinations. We loved the Oeuf Orsen, lentils and truffles, which are a perfect match, and the Wagyu beef, perfectly mastered with its divine reduced sauce. As for desserts, it's hard not to be impressed by the puffed sugar bubble revealing a delicious passion fruit baba with hibiscus and cinnamon - we love it.

In short, a fine starred gourmet restaurant to try again and again!
