This Saturday, October 7, 2017, art takes to the streets all over Paris for Nuit blanche, the evening of sharing public space. This year, the Parisian event was entrusted to Charlotte Laubard, who wanted to celebrate "the desire to share" with collective projects, living installations and permanent works.
In all, 37 projects were launched for the occasion, with the aim of opening up places unknown to Parisians, such as the Halle Hébert or the Salle Labrouste at the BNF, usually reserved for researchers. During the search for venues, the SNCF, partner of the event, was keen to open up places usually closed to the public, and especially disused spaces in the north of the capital.
The MU collective will be squatting on the disused tracks of the Jardin Rosa Luxembourg (rue Riquet, in the 18th arrondissement) with 13 totally new duos of composers and artists, who will be performing DJ sets all night long, featuring electro-acoustic, drone and radio art sounds. The line-up includes Tomoko Sauvage and Jean-Philippe Renoult, Julie Rousse and Stéphane Rives, Amandine Casadamont and Yvan Etienne...
Behind this evening, the desire to link Paris to the rest of the world, break down borders and party in a rather secret location.
