Gaumont Parnasse is dead, long live Pathé Parnasse! The cinema complex, partially closed since August 2022, reopened its doors this Monday, December 12, 2022. A new establishment reimagined to offer a premium cinema experience, with more expensive screenings, but fewer seats and greater comfort.

It's the closest cinema to the Montparnasse Tower! The Gaumont Parnasse, partially closed since August 2022, becomes the Pathé Parnasse and reopens its doors this Monday, December 12, 2022. A cinema now offering a "Premium" experience, with more comfortable but more expensive screenings.

Capacity has been reduced "to around 800 seats", with theatres featuring "fully reclinable seats, wider than usual and specially developed for this cinema, with two meters between each row, full laser projection (i.e.) a technical experience and comfort that are quite exceptional in Paris", explains Aurélien Bosc, President of Pathé's cinema division. In short, every other row has been eliminated, reducing the initial capacity from 2,000 to around 800.

Prices are "adapted to this new standard of comfort, a little more expensive than our classic cinemas", with full-price tickets at 18.50 euros, matinee tickets at 12.50 euros, 13.50 euros for students and 7.50 euros for children under 14. On the programming side, you'll find around twenty films showing each week. Among the exclusive films, a number of previews also take place in the Pathé Parnasse cinemas.

Another special feature of the Pathé-Gaumont cinemas is the screening of musicals and French comedy plays, live or recorded, as well as special sessions for opera fans. The cinema also has a games area, where you can enjoy a variety of arcade machines with car and motorcycle racing games, before or after your movie session.

Less than a 10-minute walk away, enjoy the many cultural sites surrounding the cinema. First of all, there's the Tour Montparnasse with its rooftop overlooking Paris, the Montparnasse cemetery where many artists are buried, the Grand Point-Virgule concert hall and the Musée Bourdelle. In short, the perfect excuse to go to the movies... Enjoy the show!
