This former Marais townhouse , now a museum, houses the collections ofErnest Cognacq and Marie-Louise Jay, two great lovers of the arts. During his lifetime, the founder of the Samaritaine bought numerous 18th-century European works. Paintings, sculptures, precious objects, drawings, porcelain, everyday objects from the Age of Enlightenment... Ernest Cognacq had an eye and a taste for exceptional works of art, which can now be admired at leisure in his museum. Discover paintings by Rembrandt, Watteau, Fragonard, François Boucher, Canaletto, Houdon...
During this Nuit des Musées, you're invited to stroll among these inescapable works, and to take advantage of the original activities organized for this special night.
