The medieval town of Provins, a Unesco World Heritage Site for over 10 years, will once again be the scene of one of Europe's biggest medieval festivals for a weekend on June 14 and 15, 2025. This year marks the 40th anniversary of this not-to-be-missed event.
For centuries, the town of Houdan in the Yvelines region of France has organized a lively fair to mark Saint-Matthieu's Day. For the 954th edition, from September 27 to 29, visitors can enjoy a funfair, medieval shows and a village of craftsmen.
In the town of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés lies a little gem, an ancient abbey founded in 639, of which only the ruins remain today, and which can be admired on guided tours organized by the Société d'histoire et d'archéologie de Saint-Maur.
