Christmas vacations 2024: workshops, fun activities and family visits at the Musée d'Orsay

During the 2024 Christmas vacations, the whole family will be heading for the museums of Paris! And not just any museum: the Musée d'Orsay, famous for its exceptional collections of Impressionist paintings (among others).

So, for the vacations at the Musée d'Orsay, a great program awaits you and your family, in the museum's Salle des fêtes, to take part in the fun, free-access activities on offer every day the museum is open, from 10am to 5pm. You can strike a pose and try your hand at creating a tableau vivant, inspired by a painting actually exhibited in the Musée d'Orsay, awaken your sense of creativity in creative workshops based on famous painting techniques, or enjoy a quiet moment in the reading corner, where volunteers from the Lire et faire lire association offer readings all day long.

When you visit the museum's collections, you'll also receive a visit kit (in the salle des fêtes) to help you discover them as a family, with interactive tools for younger visitors. The Musée d'Orsay is open every day during the 2024 Christmas vacations, except on December 25 and January 1, 2024. All the activities on offer in the museum's vacation area are free of charge and with no admission requirements, although you'll need to buy your museum admission ticket in advance to gain access.
