The project was launched in 2020 (at the height of the pandemic, yes, yes), with the support ofAFEV (Association de la Fondation Étudiant pour la Ville) and the Crous (Centre Régional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) de Paris: since then, Chez Phiphi has been thefriendly neighborhood address where students meet up every afternoon (except Sunday and Monday).
Originally (and as the name implies), Chez Phiphi was intended to be a place where young students could get together: to break away from the loneliness and hassles of everyday life, and to offer them a festive, creative and convivial program, entirely free of charge. Karaoke, quizzes, games evenings, knitting, embroidery or cookery workshops: there's something for everyone, with the aim of meeting new people over a cup of tea or coffee in this particularly convivial venue.
