Dorchester Collection group’s famous palace Le Meurice keeps being renovated and unveils new bedrooms and suites. Started last year, it is now time to go and discover them.
To achieve these renovations, the palace once again hired three designers Charles Jouffre, Margaux Lally and Luc Berger – whom they already entrusted with the first renovations in 2019. In all, bedrooms are both sumptuous, but clean, between 18th century classic and modernity.
We love the hand-embroidered curtains, the sophisticated details and the armchairs both chic and modern.
Like the first renovations, enjoy a garden inspiration as the guideline, with new inspirations from artists and free spirits who marked the story of the place. The signature apartments have been inspired by characters who stayed at the luxury hotel. From Tchaikovsky to Jean Cocteau, including dancer Cléo de Mérode and even Blanche d’Antigny (actress and socialite from the 19th century), they are invited through paintings, archive photographs and sketches.
To come up with these renovations, the trio teamed up with famous artisans. For instance, Ateliers Duchemin provided the magnificent stained-glass windows. They worked the materiel so it can provide transparency and intimacy.
We also hail the incredible work delivered by Maison de Gournay making hand-painted wallpapers. No repetition, no cut, a genuine sterling work for always unique realizations.
Last but not least, visit the Belle Etoile suite. This awe-inspiring apartment – standing on the seventh floor – delivers a Parisian experience like nowhere else. Each detail has been thoroughly thought about by design studio Lally & Berger to provide with breathtaking décor and highlight the incredible terrace serving 360° views on Paris.
The views and the lush paradise the terrace is are astounding. And this relaxing Eden is owed to landscaper Pierre-Alexandre Risser. Between permanent bushes – leaved changing with the seasons – and the perennial plants flowering every year, the terrace lives and transforms with seasons for an always striking show.
In other words, it is time to rediscover Le Meurice!
