The Fête Nationale is one of the highlights of summer in France. Celebrated around July 14th, it's synonymous with fireworks, popular balls and other traditional festivities paying tribute to the homeland. Every year, the whole of France is in a festive mood, to the delight of French people and visitors alike. The capital, of course, is the center of attention, with its traditional military parade and its famous fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower. Many other towns and cities in the Paris region also take part in the festivities, unveiling a festive program on July 13 and 14.
Why not take this opportunity to conquer the Paris region? This time, we're taking you to Draveil inEssonne. Situated 20 kilometers southeast of Paris, Draveil is a beautiful town steeped in history, with a fascinating environmental and architectural heritage. On either side of the commune, the banks of the Seine and the Forêt de Sénart offer beautiful places to stroll, while on the town side, you'll find some of Essonne's heritage treasures, including the Château des Bergeries, the Château de Villiers and the country house of painter Eugène Delacroix. There's plenty to keep you busy while you enjoy the Fête Nationale festivities in Draveil!
