July 14th is a key date in the French summer. No wonder: it's the national holiday! The whole country joins in the festivities. In every corner of the country, fireworks light up the sky, and people dance the night away at the firemen's balls and popular balls organized in various French towns and cities. It's an occasion not to be missed! Young and old alike can enjoy a wide range of festive activities on this public holiday.

In Paris, two highlights await locals and visitors alike: an impressive military parade, and an iconic fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower, no less! But Paris isn't the only place to celebrate: the whole of the Île-de-France region is taking part in the festivities, with a wide range of events scheduled for July 13 and 14. For some, it's a chance to celebrate the Fête Nationale close to home. For others, it's a chance to explore the region's heritage, which is well worth the detour!

In the Val-de-Marne, the town of L'Haÿ-les-Roses is one of these nuggets worth discovering, notably for its sublime rose garden. Nearby is the Domaine de Sceaux , whose garden was designed by André-le-Notre, and its château, which houses an art museum. As you can see, you'll have plenty to enjoy while you wait for the festivities to kick off at L'Haÿ-les-Roses. The program for the Fête Nationale 2024 in L'Haÿ-les-Roses

On Saturday July 13, to celebrate the Fête Nationale, the City of L'Haÿ-les-Roses invites you to join in the festivities from 4 p.m. to midnight on the esplanade de la Bièvre (av. Flouquet).

From 4 p.m., L'Haÿssiens and L'Haÿssiennes alike can come along with family or friends to enjoy the games on offer: inflatables, fairground games, foodtrucks, crêpes, cotton candy...

At 5:30 p.m., an open-air screening of the animated film Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom, directed by Guillaume Canet (1:52 p.m.).

From 7 p.m. onwards, Disco 2 Chevo will provide the musical backdrop for a grand ball, before a spectacular fireworks display brings the evening to a close.

Free shuttles will run around the town. The last shuttle leaves at 00:30.

Parking spaces will also be provided in the vicinity of the festival.
