Every year since 1880, the Fête Nationale on July 14 has been a not-to-be-missed event at the start of summer, with fireworks, entertainment and popular dances... It's a true celebration of the French Republic, in homage to July 14, 1789, the date on which the Bastille was taken by revolutionaries. What used to be the Fête de la Fédération became France's national holiday when deputy Benjamin Raspail proposed the law of July 6, 1880, making July 14 a public holiday to celebrate our country.
Today, July 14 is celebrated everywhere, including on July 13, when traditional fire department balls are held at fire stations. While July 14 is the perfect time to watch the parade on the Champs-Elysées, July 13 is a time for celebration, dancing and music!
So head for Virage, the festive venue under the 17th arrondissement's ring road. Every summer, the venue opens with an eclectic program of electro and house music, as well as its not-to-be-missed Chronologic evenings, revisiting the hits of every decade, from the 50s to the present day. This July 13, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., join us for the Virage Ball, featuring your favorite hits and singles!
