Bastille Day is just around the corner! Every year since 1789, on July 14th, the union of the nation and the end of monarchy have been celebrated throughout France. In addition to the famous military parade on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, most towns in France celebrate this annual event with the traditional popular ball, and above all, fireworks! Osny will also be taking part, but in this Val-d'Oise town, other original events are on the program!
This July 13, 2024, the town is offering a totally new format, with a magnificent equestrian and historical show followed by a musical dinner. At 6pm, the show kicks off on the lawn of the Parc de Grouchy with a grand historical and storytelling fresco, featuring tournaments of chivalry, musketeer foil duels, stilt-walkers, dressage demonstrations, acrobatics, fire-eaters, period costumes... For 1h15, the tableaux and skits invite you to step back in time, from the Renaissance to the 18th century, with references to local history and great Osnyssois figures.
To continue the evening in a more gourmet way, foodtrucks will be set up, but you can also bring your own picnic. To set the mood, the Blue Jitters jazz band will be rearranging a lively swing repertoire inspired by the 20s, 30s and 40s. It's sure to be a great evening!
