July 14th national holiday in Pontault-Combault (77): fireworks on July 13, 2024

The Fête Nationale in Pontault-Combault is waiting for you on D-1, Saturday July 13 , 2024! Fired at 11 p.m. from the Etang du Coq, this fireworks display is a truly magical pyrotechnic spectacle : hundreds of stars of every color will light up the sky to the delight of children and adults alike.

Bastille Day is celebrated every year, traditionally on July 14. This historic date refers to the storming of the Bastille, the famous royal prison, on July 14, 1789. On that day, five cannons taken in the morning from Les Invalides were placed in front of the Bastille by French guards. At around 5 p.m., the Bastille garrison surrendered and the Parisians, who had come to collect gunpowder and bullets, took over the Bastille.

Every July 14th, the French commemorate this historic day with a military parade, popular balls and fire department balls, not forgetting the inevitable fireworks display. While this pyrotechnic spectacle is fired in Paris on the evening of July 14, many other towns in the Paris region choose to light up the sky on the day before, i.e. July 13. Pontault-Combault, for example, awaits all ages from 11 p.m. around the Etang du Coq.
