Calling all foodies looking for some treats, chocolates and tasty cakes, as well as lovers of good wines. From December 16, 2022, to January 10, 2023, pastry chef Michael Bartocetti unveils his indulging and regressive universe at George V, within his Christmas pop-up store filled with delicious treats created in partnership with Eric Beaumard – Word’s Sommelier vice-champion and Le Cinq restaurant manager.
For the Holidays 2022, there are great ideas to treat ourselves. And among them stands Michael Bartocetti’s Christmas Pop-up Store at Four Seasons George V. And we have to say the pastry chef’s treats and creations are already famous. As the hotel is adorned with its greatest features, the temporary store is open to all for great discoveries.
And as you can guess, Michael and his team have come up with plenty of creations you cannot resist. Alongside the famous Signature yule log, with the lovely curves the chef loves and based on fir tree and olive, enjoy the “Quatre saisons façon Pim’s”, an indulging and regressive collection.
Well of course, this is not your average Jaffa cake (Pim’s in France being the name of the Jaffa Cake). For the fluffy biscuit is based on chestnut tree honey covered in 65% Colombian dark chocolate from Nicolas Berger’s factory. And to be honest, it is awesome and comes in 4 flavors! Morello cherry and Sakura tea for spring, raspberry for summer, wild quince and hibiscus for Fall and orange marmalade for winter with comfort Christmas spices, obviously.
Are you a chocolate person? If so, the house thought about cocoa lovers. And this year, you will collect these treats like small squirrels. Imagine Cazettes (hazelnuts) with 65% Colombian dark chocolate by Nicolas Berger. Each of these boxes hold a precious almond and Tonka bean praline mixed with caramelized Tahitian vanilla dulce de leche with roasted and salted almond slivers for delicately crunchy hints.
And there is nothing more scrumptious than cookies! Michael’s cookies are just addictive. Trying is adopting. With creamy and hearty caramel and macadamia nuts, you cannot say no to them.
Among the chef’s best-sellers, we also highly recommend his chocolate marble cake. Like a stylized fir cone, this super fluffy 65% Colombian dark chocolate cake with roasted Madagascan vanilla is a pure wonder to share (if you can share it).
Last but not least, have some spreads for gourmet mornings, all based on 40% Peruvian milk chocolate, almond and Tonka bean praline. And let us not forget the most indulging and world-famous hot chocolates likely to take you on a walk down memory lane.
Moving on to wines, Eric Beaumard opened the doors of George V’s iconic cellar, drawing from the fabulous 50,000-bottle collection to offer a selection of exceptional vintages mixing confidential heart-stopping wines and renown vintages, delivering the best of French vineyards. The palace’s sommeliers – on site daily – will give you some great recommendations for exceptional Holiday meals.
And after Christmas and New Year’s Day, you can expect the incredible Epiphany Cake.
Note George V’s Christmas Pop-up store opens daily from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and from 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Save the date and let us meet there from December 16, 2022, to January 10, 2023.
