A Covid vaccine coming as a pill, a spray or even in powder… Here are the ongoing researchers by laboratories across the world, carried out by several scientific teams working on other ways to give the different vaccines already available on the market.
Three administration means being studied shared by the BBC, showing the ongoing studies were coming along nicely. They have a first example with the spray vaccine – or to be precise, the vaccine through inhalation – currently studied in Sweden, “half the size of a matchbox”. Designed by Iconovo and the ISR research start-up, it could come in as a powder likely using virus proteins (namely viral vector).
A technique also studied by Pfizer, enabling to keep the vaccine to temperatures up to 40°C (104°F). In France and across the world, the spray technology also triggers a lot of interest, so much that clinical trials have been launched.
Covid: take a stock on intranasal vaccines under development
Will the fight against Covid involve a nasal spray? Many searchers are working hard to develop a vaccine using this method, like searchers from the Tours university and Inrae who may be able to develop a vaccine using this technology within a few months. Here are all works conducted on the matter. [Read more]Covid: intranasal vaccine by the Inrae and the Tours University still under rolling review
Is a genuinely effective intranasal covid vaccine soon to be available? This is what searchers from the Inrae and the Tours University say as they registered a patent on Thursday September 9, 2021 as for a candidate vaccine that led to promising results on animals, including a 100% effectiveness, according to scientists. But where are the clinical trials at? Keep reading to find out more. [Read more]Pfizer and BioNTech are making powdered vaccines to get round the refrigeration constraint
A few days ago already Pfizer and BioNTech announced their vaccines against coronavirus were over 95% effective! The only flaw is that these two products are to be stored at minus 80 degrees Celsius (-112°F), leading to logistical issues. Both laboratories are working on a powdered version to get round the problem. [Read more]
Another study: pill vaccine. A product as effective as an injection – as reported by our peers from the Jerusalem Post, explaining the Oravax Medical start-up recently launched their first clinical trial on the matter. A common technique for many medications but which effectiveness is not known as a vaccine.
