Foreign tourists visiting France are not excluded from the health pass to go to restaurants, bars, cafés, swimming pools, and movie theaters. If it happens to be your case, you may be wondering how to get this precious door opener ahead of your stay in France.
As a matter of fact, the health pass given to foreign tourists in their home country is not valid in France, but the latter can fill in an application for a French health pass following the conditions given on the French administration website.
Namely: emailing the application form available on the website, a vaccination certificate “issued in accordance with the rules of their country of residence, demonstrating full vaccination with an approved vaccine”, a photograph of the passport, as well as a photograph of the round-trip ticket.
Inquiries are to be sent to the following addresses with “HOME COUNTRY / SURNAME Name / Date of arrival in France in the following format DD-MM-21”as the subject. An email-with a QR code is then emailed back to the inquirers.
Careful though, only adults vaccinated with one of the 4 vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson) can apply on the condition they are vaccinated for over 4 weeks for single-shot vaccines, and for over 7 days for two-shot vaccines.
For the record, EU tourists, or tourists from Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway and Switzerland can se the “EU digital Covid Certificate” health pass. As for UK tourists, a document from the NHS confirming the inquirer is vaccinated can double as a health pass.
