This situation has led to new measures and restrictions including the closure of nightclubs, the cancelling of the New Year’s Eve shows and firework, as well as the conditioning of the health pass to a booster shot.
But a sixth wave is already showing, as caused by the Omicron variant. France is preparing for a two-front battle. This Tuesday December 21, 2022, government’s spokesman Gabriel Attal told France 2 TV channel in the event of a severe outbreak because of the Omicron variant, the executive could go beyond the measures currently instated. Out of principle, lockdown has not been ruled out.
