For the Journées du Patrimoine, the SNCF invites you to discover the Gare du Nord on Friday, September 15, 2023. Currently Europe's 1st and the world's 3rd busiest station, Gare du Nord welcomes 700,000 passengers a day and serves 4 European countries. With its 3 RER lines and 2 Transilien lines, it handles 2,100 trains every day! The JEP is a great opportunity for the whole family to discover the Gare Nord, and it's completely free of charge.
The oldest of Paris's major railway stations, opened in 1846 by the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Nord as a landing stage for the Paris-Nord-Lille line, the Gare du Nord today is the only one to have fully preserved its architecture, with its façade adorned with 23 monumental statues sculpted on site by artists of the time. These statues represent the main cities served by the company(Paris, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Vienna, Brussels, etc.).
Please note that the events will take place on Friday, September 15, from 9.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
