Discover the educational heritage of a 150-year-old lycée: the Lycée Colbert, located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. Join us on Saturday, September 21, 2024 for a free, exceptional tour of the lycée as part of the new Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days).

To mark the Journées du Patrimoine, the Lycée Colbert is opening its doors to all and sundry on Saturday, September 21, 2024! The aim is not to recruit future students, but to open the doors and discover the Lycée's rich educational heritage, built up over more than one hundred and fifty years.

This is just one of the exceptional openings taking place during the famous Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days), a key cultural and annual event in Paris and the Île-de-France region, during which you can take a wonderful plunge into our rich heritage by pushing open the doors of museums, monuments, institutions, embassies, unusual, hidden or little-known places, but also high schools!

Nestled in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Lycée Colbert was founded in 1868 and has undergone many changes over the years, particularly in terms of teaching methods. Take a free tour and learn more about this late 19th-century building.

The Lycée is home to a bust of Colbert by sculptor Alexandre Oliva, as well as a collection of anatomical and naturalistic models by Dr. Louis Auzoux (1797-1880). Come and discover the secrets of the Lycée Colbert on September 16, 2023, during free tours offered exclusively to mark the new, 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine!

    Discover an educational establishment, a former upper elementary school of the City of Paris, opened in 1868 to give a continuation of studies, after obtaining the certificate of studies, to deserving pupils from modest backgrounds. Teaching materials dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries will be on display, as well as collections of meetings held by the Amicale des Anciens Elèves, founded in 1873.
