Every September, the European Heritage Days are a not-to-be-missed event in Paris and the Ile-de-France region: this year, the event takes place on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024, and offers hundreds of tours, events and activities to discover our heritage from a different angle.
To mark the occasion, a large number of sites that are closed to the public all year round are opening their doors to the public and offering exclusive, sometimes unprecedented, guided tours. This is the case for some of Paris's leading lycées and higher education establishments, which, while only accessible to their students, teachers and staff all year round, are offering visitors the chance to discover their architecture, history and rich heritage on an exceptional visit over the weekend of September 21 and 22.
With their huge buildings, richly decorated halls and the very special atmosphere found in these highly prestigious higher education establishments, Paris's biggest lycées and other university campuses are opening their doors to you during the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 , giving you the chance to take a guided tour and admire the classrooms, halls, staircases... usually reserved for those lucky enough to study there.
