The Journées du Patrimoine are back for their 41st edition, on September 21 and 22, 2024. As always, this year's event offers a wealth of discoveries and beautiful walks, enabling us to admire and appreciate the heritage treasures hidden all around us. Museums, monuments, places of worship, stores and workshops, parks and train stations... A whole host of places are taking part in this event. Even schools!
In Paris and Île-de-France, prestigious schools are opening their doors to the curious during the Journées du Patrimoine weekend. A case in point is the Collège Condorcet, located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.
This school, formerly known asthe "Petit Lycée Condorcet", is linked to the Lycée Condorcet. The "Petit Lycée" was a school for pupils from CP to CM2, who were destined to enter the lycée. In the 19th and 20th centuries, lycée studies were less common, and therefore considered prestigious. At the Petit Lycée, young students were trained to enter the Lycée Condorcet. Since then, the 8th arrondissement school has become a collège.
Discover this school with its ancient history, and take advantage of the special events planned for the Journées du Patrimoine in Paris.
Let your gaze wander to the original semi-open cloister layout, to the statue in the Cour d'Honneur, to the cement tile paving... and let our student guides lead you through a fabulous exhibition designed by 5th graders around the early years of the Petit Lycée Condorcet (1882-1914).
Enjoy your visit!
