It's easy to get lost in the alleys of this cemetery, looking for any of these celebrities. That's why the cemetery is offering a special guided tour, to be experienced on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024.

Come and meet the Great Sybil of the Revolution, and let yourself be guided by this prophetess, who has been roaming the cemetery for over 200 years. Marie Anne Lenormand, her real name, will guide you through this maze of tombs, introducing you to some of her most famous friends.     Guided by the Great Sibyl of the Revolution, come and discover the secrets and stories behind the most famous tombs in the Père Lachaise cemetery on a colorful tour.

    For over 200 years now, Marie Anne Lenormand has been wandering the maze of the eastern cemetery, her final resting place, better known to you as the Père Lachaise cemetery.

    She's getting bored and would love to meet some new people!
    Let her guide you to the graves of her friends and introduce you to the souls she frequents! And let her tell you all about the cemetery's history and intrigues...

    Guided tour in living history format, in small groups of 7 to 25 people max. Booking essential.
    In French for adults and children aged 7 and over.



  • History and LGBT personalities of Père Lachaise cemetery" guided tour
    Sunday, September 22, 10:30 a.m.

    Guided tour led by Sirine Dutot, art historian and head of the funerary heritage inventory unit of the Paris cemeteries department. This tour will provide an opportunity to learn more about LGBT+ history through the prism of the personalities buried in Père Lachaise cemetery.
    The tour starts at the cemetery's main entrance and lasts around 2 hours.
    Père Lachaise cemetery is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.





  • Guided tour of Père Lachaise's ancient Muslim cemetery
    Sunday, September 22, 2:00 p.m.

    Guided tour led by Sirine Dutot, art historian and head of the funerary heritage inventory unit of the Paris cemeteries department. This visit will be an opportunity to discover the history of the former Muslim cemetery of Père Lachaise and its personalities.
    The visit will start at the entrance to the cemetery on the Porte Gambetta side and will last approximately half an hour.
    The Père Lachaise cemetery is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
