Every year, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) bring together the curious and the passionate in search of cultural nuggets and historical masterpieces. This not-to-be-missed event, which takes place all over Europe, invites us to discover our heritage in a new light over the course of a weekend. Each year , museums, monuments, castles and even places usually closed to the public take part. The result is an exciting program of visits, often free of charge, unusual events and new discoveries that await you at this not-to-be-missed cultural event. And as you'd expect, Paris and the whole of theÎle-de-France region are on board! Next rendezvous: the weekend of September 16 and 17, 2023.
In the heart of the capital, the Jeu de Paume is also getting in on the action! Nestled in the famous Tuileries Gardens, this building, constructed in 1861 during the reign of Napoleon III, originally housed the Jeu de Paume courts, a sport considered to be theancestor of tennis. Since 2004, it has been home to an art center dedicated to contemporary photography. Throughout the year, this venue unveils a fine program of exhibitions. So, what can we expect for the Journées du Patrimoine?
