In the heart of Paris lies the Maison du Vitrail, a showcase of art and history. Founded in the 1970s, this Parisian institution is dedicated to the preservation and creation of stained glass. It is both a workshop where craftsmen perpetuate ancestral know-how and an exhibition space where modern and ancient works of stained glass are showcased. The Maison du Vitrail is a true testament to the rich artistic heritage of Paris and France.
For the Journées du Patrimoine, a visit to the Maison du Vitrail offers a unique experience: live demonstrations by master glassmakers, giving you an insight into the delicate techniques involved in creating stained glass. You'll marvel at the finesse and beauty of the works on display. This is your chance to see these craftsmen at work, and to get up close and personal with the delicate and magnificent art of stained glass!
La Maison du Vitrail, a certified Living Heritage Company, was founded by Christiane and Philippe Andrieux.
Emmanuelle Andrieux, their daughter, to whom they passed on their passion, joined them over 24 years ago, taking up the torch and perpetuating the know-how so precious to the company. 2 Master Glassmakers and 12 journeymen work in the workshop every day to share this passion.
Operating all over the world, we are proud to design and practice in the purest tradition of the builders. For over eight centuries, this prestigious art has been passed down from master to master.
We are architects of light, creators and restorers of stained glass, at the service of the customer and the building. We draw on the past to accomplish the future, from classical to contemporary, all techniques combined, our mission: to thrill you!
La Maison du Vitrail opens its doors on Saturday, September 21, from 9am to 12pm and then from 1pm to 6pm, and on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 10am to 12pm and then from 1pm to 6pm.
Come and share our passion for stained glass in the usual setting of our workshop, where we'll share our expertise and, above all, answer all your questions about this art form.
It's also an opportunity for you to discover our ancestral and contemporary techniques for creating and restoring stained glass.
