The exhibition features a colorful confrontation between two photographic artists adept at trichromy, Philippe Do and Henri Gaud.
Since 2005, Henri Gaud has been exploring and placing trichromy at the center of his photographic work, fostering a worldwide revival of interest in this color photographic practice on the bangs of the imposed industrial straitjacket. Philippe Do joins him on this alternative terrain.
The idea of re-reading their different series and works was put to the two photographers. By extracting and combining images where the exaltation of color modulation was revealed, the "Chromatic Modulation" exhibition was born. Superimposed on one another, the images are assembled or opposed, resemble or repel one another, recording and capturing, or not, the movement (im)perceptible in the photographic act, the fruit of a representation shifted in space-time. An association that provokes chromatic clashes, exuberant complementary contrasts and subtle gradations. Xavier Marocco
Exhibition programmed in partnership with Galerie HorsChamp as part of the "Mémoire pour le futur" photo residency program.
